Executing

Talented, hard working people make executing looks easy. It does get easier but it never gets easy.

Only the person who is executing feels the pain, emotions and exhaustion of taking action.

Only the person who is executing knows the failures, rejections and disappointments of big dreams.

Only the person who is executing bears the mundane, routine, disciplined art of practice.

Only the person who is executing sees the tiny flaws in her masterpiece of work.

Only the person who is executing experiences flow when she gains a new skill.

Only the person who is executing earns trust from those who are also in the trenches.

Only the person who is executing deserves respect from those who stand on the sidelines.

Only the person who is executing understands that winning today, means a new challenge tomorrow.

Only the person who is executing is humble to know that it is a privilege to be able to do so — who knows when tomorrow will be the last day?

Executing is never glamorous. Strong execution begins with many, micro actions. Many people choose not to take action; therefore, they have chosen to not execute, carry through and achieve what they set out to do. As a result, they renege themselves of the opportunity to execute a much more ambitious goal.

My only advice is to execute now, execute today.
